Overview
Our client, a large hospital in Georgia, about 1 ½ hours from Atlanta, has a need for a Cytotechnologist (ASCP certified) to join their team. Seeking a candidate with consistent specimen diagnostic experience within the past year, and preferably with on-site rapid evaluation diagnostic skills, particularly in EBUS/EUS procedures, due to the high volume in our laboratory.
Shift8:30A - 5:00P;
No weekends, No holidays
- Screens and renders cytologic diagnosis on gynecological (Pap Smears) and non-gynecological specimens.
- Performs immediate EBUS and EUS evaluations in Endoscopy when requested.
- Assists in preparation and processing of specimens for cytologic evaluation in the absence of the laboratory assistant.
- Performs re-screening of high risk and 10% QC cases when appropriate.
- Enters results in the computer, verifies and finalizes reports on all negative gynecologic cytology cases.
- Participates in continuing education programs and participates in successful proficiency testing exams and functions.
- Forwards any adjunct testing on cytologic specimens to appropriate personnel.
- Supports and maintains a positive work environment while following lab and hospital policies.
Completion of a 4-year BS or BA degree in cytotechnology, biology or life sciences and completion of an accredited cytotechnology program.
We are seeking a candidate with consistent specimen diagnostic experience within the past year, and preferably with on-site rapid evaluation diagnostic skills, particularly in EBUS/EUS procedures, due to the high volume in our laboratory.
Licenses, CertificationsCertification as a Cytotechnologist/Cytotechnician by ASCP.
Please note: All candidates will complete a slide exam during their on-site interview, which includes both Gyn and Non-Gyn cases.
