Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a crucial logistics management leader, ensuring the effective and efficient operation of logistical support programs. The role encompasses comprehensive program oversight in Tool Control, Foreign Object Damage (FOD), and Dropped Object Prevention (DOP), from initial planning and data analysis to proactive problem-solving and the implementation of strategic recommendations. The individual will develop and maintain crucial documentation, manage funding profiles, and foster strong relationships with stakeholders including customers, contractors, and internal staff.

Furthermore, this position is responsible for optimizing organizational processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while exceeding customer expectations in Tool Control, FOD, and DOP. This includes developing and implementing policies, establishing performance metrics, and effectively managing resources. The role actively participates in special projects, conducts in-depth research, and represents the organization, advocating for its interests and ensuring clear communication across all levels.

The ultimate purpose is to enhance logistics operations, promote continuous improvement, and deliver timely, high-quality service to support the overall mission.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.
  • Knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.
  • Knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition, supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.
  • Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution.
  • Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.
Requirements
  • The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
  • The employee may be required to work during base exercises, contingencies or emergency situations.
  • The employee may occasionally travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft in accordance with Joint Travel Regulations to other government installations, contractor facilities, or other commercial locations for both training and mission accomplishment.
