Working with Young People Aged 16–25 with PMLD, Complex Needs & SEMH
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Worker to join our farm-based alternative education provision
, supporting young people aged 16–25 with PMLD, complex needs and SEMH
.
This role is about meeting young people where they are
, using nature, routine and sensory experiences to create learning that feels safe, meaningful and achievable.
You will support learners through personalised, sensory-led and outdoor learning experiences
, helping them develop communication, independence, emotional regulation and life skills.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Supporting learning through hands‑on farm and outdoor activities
- Delivering sensory and alternative learning approaches
- Providing consistent emotional and behavioural support
- Promoting wellbeing, independence and self-esteem
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to meet individual needs
- Supporting personal care and physical needs
You are someone who:
- Is patient, nurturing and emotionally aware
- Understands or is eager to learn about PMLD, complex needs and SEMH
- Values relationship‑based and trauma‑informed practice
- Enjoys working outdoors and in practical environments
- Believes every young person deserves a learning pathway that works for them
- Experience in SEN, care or education is desirable but full training will be provided
