Position Summary
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates touring stores and providing feedback. Tour-to-Teach communication and collaboration with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicating business objectives to teams effectively.
Responsibilities- Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
- Manage and support customer service initiatives, e.g., store of the community and community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved.
- Develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies and provide process improvement leadership to ensure a high‑quality customer experience.
- Drive the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL (Profit/Loss) statements, managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses in the designated business area, ensuring they are indexed to sales.
- Monitor and ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes; develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates: hire, train, mentor, assign duties, set clear expectations, recognize associates, promote a belonging mindset, and recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs.
- Coordinate and oversee job‑related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identify and communicate goals and objectives, build accountability, measure progress, identify improvement opportunities, and demonstrate adaptability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, support company mission values and standards of ethics and integrity, and implement action plans using the Open Door Policy.
- Build high‑performing teams, embrace diversity, and create a workplace where associates feel seen, supported, and connected through a culture of belonging.
- Act with integrity by maintaining the highest standards of ethics and compliance, supporting Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company, and serving customers and members with a focus on data‑driven decisions.
- Minimum 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
- For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required.
- For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state‑specific requirements, a current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
- Required to attend and successfully complete all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 – $80,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and may include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) and Complex Structure adjustments based on external factors.
