Williams Racing is a world‑class Formula 1 team with a rich heritage and a track record of 16 World Championship titles. We are looking for a CAD Systems Specialist to join our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) team within the Technology Innovation Group. This key technical leadership role will provide strategic direction and hands‑on expertise for our Siemens NX platform, supporting the design, manufacturing, and engineering teams that power our race cars.
The RoleAs the CAD Systems Specialist you will be the technical authority for Siemens NX at Williams Racing. You will lead CAD projects, drive continuous improvement, and ensure our CAD systems enable seamless workflows across the business. Working closely with engineers, IT, and manufacturing teams, you will provide “at‑elbow” support, develop custom tools, and champion best practices that deliver real value in a fast‑paced, high‑performance environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, deployment, and optimisation of Siemens NX solutions
- Act as the primary technical authority for CAD implementations and integrations
- Drive digital transformation through PLM strategy and process improvement
- Design and develop custom plugins, automation scripts, and extensions using NX Open APIs
- Provide training, documentation, and hands‑on support to drive user adoption
- Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements for efficiency and scalability
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver CAD and PLM projects successfully
- Investigate recurring issues, identify root causes, and implement permanent solutions
- Take ownership of major incidents, working closely with Service Management
- Maintain and update technical documentation
- Support out‑of‑hours upgrades or incidents when required
- Proven experience leading CAD implementations (Siemens NX strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of NX‑enabled CAD workflows
- Hands‑on experience with NX configuration and customisation
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Experience developing automation or integrations (Python, C#, Java or similar)
- Solid background in systems integration, data migration, and enterprise IT environments
- Experience working in Agile environments and delivering continuous improvement programmes
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
