Field Service Engineer

We are recruiting for an experienced Field Service Engineer to support our client's customers across the EMEAI region. The role focuses on the commissioning, servicing, repair, and upgrade of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems used within industrial environments.

The position is home- or site-based from a London location, with regular international travel forming a core part of the role. Alongside hands-on engineering responsibilities, there is a customer-facing element involving technical advice, system upgrades, and service support.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:

Commissioning, servicing, and repairing low- and medium-voltage electrical systems and equipment
Providing on-site and remote technical support and fault-finding
Carrying out routine maintenance and inspections of electrical systems
Advising customers on replacement solutions and technical improvements
Supporting service and maintenance agreements
Identifying opportunities to support further work while on customer sites
Completing service documentation and maintaining accurate records
Ensuring all work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations
Designing and implementing upgrades on obsolete electrical equipment
PLC and HMI programming, modification, and troubleshooting
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

BTEC National Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Proven track-record in a field service engineering role within industrial electrical environments
Strong knowledge of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems
Proven diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Ability to work independently and manage travel-based workloads
Strong communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach
Willingness to travel extensively, with travel expected to account for approximately 85% of the working year
Commercial awareness and the ability to identify customer needs
Package and Location

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Base location:
Battersea, London
Travel:
Approximately 85% international travel across the year, typically averaging two to three assignments per month

Desirable Experience

Experience working with industrial electrical systems and switch gear
PLC and HMI experience across a range of platforms
Exposure to complex or regulated industrial environments
