This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding and forward-thinkingorganisationproviding pharmacy services across multiple GP practice sites.

The pharmacy technician will work flexibly across locations as part of a multidisciplinary team to support safe, effective, and efficient medicines optimisation. They will play a vital role in improving patient safety, supporting prescribing quality, and ensuring robust medicines governance systems are in place across all sites.

The post holder will undertake or have completed the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway (PCPEP), which provides the knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in general practice.

Therole includes supervision of trainee pharmacy technician(s) & prescription clerks, leadingqualityand safety audits, coordinating cross-site medicines governance activities, coordinating cross-site approaches to local medicinesoptimisationschemes, document management, supporting the clinical pharmacists and wider GP team to improve the quality medicines management across the organisation.

Main duties of the job

Clinical and Medicines Optimisationsupport safe and efficient repeat prescribing processes and ensure accurate. processing of prescription requests from different sources carry out medicines reconciliation for discharges outpatient letters andnew patient registrations identify and resolve discrepancies and liaise closely with pharmacists or GPs promote medicines synchronisation NHS appusage and encourage patient adherence Medicines Governance maintain MHRA alert and highrisk drug monitoring records support safe prescribing and monitoring of high risk medicines carry out regular spot checks for medicines storage and safety compliance review and update SOPs and maintain audit trails Education Training and Supervision undertake CPPEPrimary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway within agreed timelines supervise mentor and assess trainees and provide training and guidance to staff Quality Improvement and Patient Facing Activities lead or contribute to audits quality improvement and significant event reviews provide advice and information to patients on safe medicine use conduct patient clinics within scope supporting education adherence and selfcare and promote patient self management Professional and Organisational Responsibilities maintain GPhC registration complete revalidation develop and maintain effective relationships with community pharmacies engage in continuous professional development work flexibly across sites and uphold infection prevention safeguarding and data protection standards
