Youth and Family Specialist
Pay$51,196 per year
LocationWorcester, MA. In person with hybrid schedule and frequent travel throughout Massachusetts and New England.
Position OverviewWe are looking for a new team member passionate about placing Refugee children and youth into safe, reliable, and loving foster homes! The Family Resource Specialist works to identify, match, train, prepare, and develop foster families to effectively care for the children in our program. The candidate will work as part of the team and will maintain excellent relationship with the State and other funding sources, stakeholders, families and the youth.
Responsibilities- Identify, match, train, prepare, and develop foster families to effectively care for children.
- Ensure foster family documentation is complete, up to date, and meets all regulatory requirements.
- Maintain excellent relationship with the State, funding sources, stakeholders, families, and youth.
- Visit each foster family monthly and document families’ progress and growth.
- Collaborate with the team and maintain communication throughout the process.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field with 1 year experience and LSW licensure eligibility.
- Ability to work within the Mission of the agency.
- Significant experience working with children with social/emotional/physical problems desirable. Mediation and conflict resolution skills helpful.
- Open to new ideas and desire to grow professionally. Flexibility in thinking and scheduling.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Ability to utilize independent sound clinical judgement and decision making with regards to best interest of children and families.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus, reliable transportation, eager to attend trainings and acquire the LSWA certification.
