Overview
The VP of Marketing, Sales and Commercial Training will lead the Hematology franchise, setting brand and sales strategy, sales execution, and commercial training. The role also drives marketing and sales for other follow‑on molecules within Deciphera’s and Ono’s Hematology portfolio.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and Maintain Go‑To‑Market Plans for the launch of Products in PCNSL (40%)
- Lead cross‑functional launch readiness work streams.
- Build and implement the marketing plan covering strategy, brand development, promotions, digital marketing, patient marketing, and operations.
- Recruit, motivate, develop, and retain a highly skilled marketing team.
Build and Lead the Hematology Sales Team (40%)
- Develop vision, structure, talent base, capabilities, and operating model for the hematology organization.
- Build and lead a high‑performing oncology sales organization, determining sales force size, structure, and customer engagement model.
- Design, build, and deliver a comprehensive sales training curriculum.
- Serve as an internal consultant for special projects.
- Facilitate onboarding of new program team members.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned (20%)
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Advanced degree with 20+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries, including at least 5‑7 years in senior marketing and 5‑7 years in senior sales leadership (including second‑line leadership).
- Oncology launch experience required; hematology preferred. Oral oncolytic experience strongly preferred.
- Experience building teams and commercial capabilities is required.
Preferred Experience
- Existing relationships with key customers (e.g., KOLs, key account leadership, oncology societies, GPOs).
- Experience and understanding of other commercial functions (e.g., marketing, market access, sales operations, sales training, insights/analytics, business development).
- Sales force build experience preferred.
- Experience informing investment decisions for future development preferred.
Deciphera is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Base salary pay range for this role is $268,000 – $368,000. Actual compensation packages depend on experience, education, skill set, performance, and/or location.
