The Opportunity:
In this role, you will report to the Onsite Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Location: Waltham, MA 02401
Shift: Mon – Fri, 7:30 am – 4 pm
Hourly Rate: $26 - $29

What we’re looking for
Education
High School diploma or GED required;
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline preferred.
Experience
1–2 years of laboratory experience strongly preferred (undergraduate lab coursework accepted).
Familiarity with laboratory instruments and basic testing procedures.
Skills & Requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Teams; strong collaboration and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain a proactive, customer-focused approach.
Knowledge of lab safety protocols and compliance standards.
Effective verbal and written communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Commitment to following site protocols to ensure safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.
The Lab Resource Coordinator is a key member of the laboratory operations team, providing essential support to scientific research groups. This role serves as a critical liaison between scientists and laboratory operations, ensuring smooth and efficient lab operations while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Act as primary liaison for research teams, supporting daily experimental and operational needs.
Ensure compliance with laboratory SOPs, GLP standards, and safety regulations.
Manage reagent, consumable, and equipment inventory; coordinate procurement and stock optimization.
Oversee cold-chain storage systems (refrigerators,
-80°C freezers, cryogenic units) for sample integrity.Coordinate preventive maintenance, calibration, and service requests for analytical instruments.
Maintain shared laboratory infrastructure and submit facility work orders.
Participate in EHS audits and safety walkthroughs; assist with onboarding and safety training.
Train personnel on core lab workflows, instrumentation, and PPE programs.
Facilitate cross-functional communication between scientific teams and operations.
Support space utilization initiatives and laboratory organization.
Perform routine lab tasks, including equipment checks, buffer/solvent monitoring, and waste management.
