The Vice President of Quality Care, Trauma-informed Systems and Community-based Programs provides visionary executive leadership, strategic direction, and administrative oversight across a multidisciplinary portfolio of community-based programs, external training, consultation, and implementation science initiatives at The Baker Center for Children and Families.

This role is responsible for advancing a national and global agenda to transform systems of care through evidence-based, trauma‑informed, trauma‑responsive, and relational health approaches. The Vice President ensures the highest standards for external training and workforce development in evidence‑based practices, program development, quality improvement, evaluation, consultation, operational efficiency, and thought leadership.

The Vice President will oversee program directors in the Quality Care Initiative and Trauma‑informed and Community‑based Programs, as well as collaborate closely with VPs of Finance, Administration and Operations, Culture and External Affairs, Development, and Senior Directors of Clinical Services and the Manville School. The Vice President will oversee departmental budgets for direct reports and work closely with senior leadership to advance the organization’s mission and strategic priorities.

An academic rank is anticipated at the level of Associate Professor commensurate with training and experience. Ongoing teaching and supervision will be required as part of this role.

Key Responsibilities Executive Leadership and Strategic Oversight
  • Provides executive leadership and vision for the design, implementation, and evaluation of all non‑clinical programs, ensuring they reflect evidence‑based, trauma‑informed, and relational health principles.
  • Works closely with the Senior Director of Clinical Services/Director of Training to collaborate, support, and ensure alignment across clinical and non‑clinical programs.
  • Leads strategic planning and decision‑making to align programmatic goals with organizational priorities in health equity, resilience, and population well‑being.
  • Represents the organization externally with funders, academic partners, and policymakers to advance trauma‑informed systems and mental health innovation, training, and implementation science initiatives.
  • Identifies and secures partnerships with governmental agencies, healthcare systems, foundations, and global organizations to promote system‑wide change.
  • Leads strategic planning and decision‑making to ensure integration and alignment of programmatic goals with organizational priorities.
Programmatic Oversight
  • Directly oversees and supports program directors responsible for the following core divisions and initiatives:
    • Quality Care Initiative:
      Oversees external implementation and training for mental health providers in evidence‑based and trauma‑informed practices. Provides oversight and strategic guidance to intermediary activities including workforce development and implementation, quality improvement, evaluation, model development, technical assistance and consultation.
    • Division of Trauma‑informed and Community‑based Programs:
      Provides leadership for this new and expanding division of The Baker Center through building partnerships to address a broad range of community‑based needs including screening, early intervention, prevention, program development, quality improvement, consultation and inter‑agency collaboration. Lead large‑scale, cross‑sector collaborations such as centralized referral systems and resilience‑building programs. Develop new community‑based programs to address identified needs in child mental health and development in collaboration with providers, schools, community partners, youth & family organizations, and local and state agencies.
Operations

and Fiscal Management
  • Leads annual budget planning and fiscal oversight for all assigned programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and efficient resource utilization.
