Summary
The Pipeline PM is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of all Pipeline Key Initiatives/pre‑clinical programs within the Strategy Team. Additionally, they will support the Discovery Early Asset team and related alliances, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives by managing budgets, timelines, resources, risks, and communication to achieve successful outcomes; acting as the right‑hand to the Pipeline Strategy Lead.
Roles and Responsibilities- Work with Pipeline Strategy Lead to define Pipeline strategy, Key Initiatives for near‑term value drivers, goals, scope, and deliverables, aligning them with corporate strategy.
- Drive weekly Pipeline Strategy Team and Discovery Early Asset Team meetings, including agenda creation, meeting management, and minutes.
- Drive alliance management with partners in Discovery, including contract updates and conflict resolution.
- Co‑develop pipeline strategy, working directly with VPs and ED, PMO.
- Support Strategy Lead in creation of Board of Directors presentations and facilitate EC Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Monitor individual Key Initiative progress, identifying potential issues, and coordinating necessary adjustments across projects within the program.
- Manage budget and timelines effectively across different projects within the program.
- Support ad hoc sub‑team projects related to the Pipeline as needed.
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address issues that could impact program success.
- Maintain clear communication with key stakeholders, including manager, program and project teams, senior leadership, clients, and internal departments, ensuring alignment and buy‑in.
- Regularly monitor progress against program goals, generate reports, and identify areas for improvement.
- Adapt to changing requirements and effectively manage transitions within the program.
- Ensure program deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to established processes.
- Work alongside other PMs to ensure consistency across all Early Asset Teams.
- Minimum of 10 years industry experience in program or operational management, with responsibilities for pre‑clinical, clinical or commercial stage collaborations.
- Prior experience in small Biotech or large Pharma environments is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Track record of having managed successful programs or projects.
- Understanding of the drug development process and working knowledge of the essential activities for all key functional areas.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally and facilitate decision‑making between different departments.
- Strong communicator with the ability to work with scientific and commercial team members at all levels.
- Collegiate team player that has a customer service approach and is solution‑oriented.
- Solid presentation and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Innovative and flexible to adapt to the dynamic needs of a fast‑growing biotech company.
