Zixi is seeking a QA Automation Lead to join our U.S. Engineering organization. This role is a senior, hands‑on position focused on building, maintaining, and scaling automated testing across the Zixi Platform to ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of our broadcast‑grade live video delivery solutions. The QA Automation Lead will work closely with Engineering, Product, and Dev Ops teams to implement test automation best practices, improve coverage, and support high‑quality releases.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys deep technical work, mentoring others, and raising the overall quality bar across complex, distributed systems.
Test Automation Execution & Ownership:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for frontend and backend services, API's, and system‑level workflows.
- Implement automated tests covering functional, integration, regression, and performance scenarios.
- Ensure automated tests are reliable, maintainable, and provide meaningful feedback to Engineering teams.
- Continuously improve automation coverage and reduce reliance on manual regression testing.
Quality Assurance & Release Support:
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to define test plans, acceptance criteria, and release readiness.
- Lead or support regression testing efforts for major releases and hotfixes.
- Analyze test results, identify trends, and clearly communicate risks and findings to stakeholders.
- Participate in root cause analysis for defects and production issues, contributing to continuous improvement.
CI/CD & Engineering
Collaboration:
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipeline to enable fast and consistent feedback on code changes.
- Work closely with Dev Ops to maintain stable and production‑like test environments.
- Partner with Engineering teams to improve testability and identify quality risks early in the development cycle.
Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
- Work closely with Engineering, product Management, Customer Support, and field teams to understand real‑world customer workflows.
- Ensure critical customer scenarios and edge cases are represented in automated test coverage.
- Provide practical feedback on product behavior and quality from a customer‑impact perspective.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship:
- Serve as a technical lead within the QA team, providing guidance on automation design, tools, and best practices.
- Mentor QA Engineers and support their growth in automation skills and test design.
- Collaborate with Leadership to help execute broader quality initiatives and standards.
- 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with a strong emphasis on test automation.
- Understanding of IP networking concepts (TCP/UDP, multicast, latency, firewalls).
- Proven experience in a technical leadership QA role.
- Strong experience designing, building and maintaining automated test frameworks (API, backend, and system‑level).
- Proficiency in Python and/or Java.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid experience working in Linux environments and troubleshooting complex systems.
