ResponsibilitiesJoin our team and make a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities! As a Residential Direct Care Relief Professional
, your responsibilities include:
Implementation of individualized activity schedules, documentation of individuals’ progress, advocacy for designated individuals and specific responsibilities as designated by the Residential House Manager.
For the Individuals- Collect accurate data when on shift. Sound observation techniques and organized/detailed written remarks of all data are critical.
- Monitor individuals’ physical condition and medical needs.
- Respond to safety issues and emergency situations appropriately and according to established procedures.
- Respond to emergency situations and work under pressure.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Deliver medications to individuals in a safe manner. You must be certified in Medication Administration procedures.
- Communicate with regular staff and management in a capable manner.
- Demonstrate ability and interest in working both independently and as part of a team.
- Attend and participate in any staff meetings when asked.
- Respond to feedback from management.
- Follow assigned schedule. Notify Residential House Manager of schedule changes in a timely manner.
- Share daily cleaning and maintenance responsibilities according to established schedules and checklists.
- Maintain a valid MA driver’s license.
- Report maintenance needs directly to a Residential House Manager or in the staff log.
- Learn agency policies and procedures to perform the job accordingly.
- Carry out responsibilities asked of you in a manner consistent with the agency’s mission and philosophy.
- Attend necessary trainings and receive necessary certifications within established timelines.
- Represent Opportunities for Inclusion to outside agencies in a positive and professional manner.
- Act as a Mandated Reporter to the Disabled Persons’ Protection Commission.
- All communication with external support agencies (day services, Visiting Nurse) for assigned individuals will be professional and positive. Specific written documentation will be required in all contacts made.
- All interactions with individuals’ family members and other interested parties as assigned by the Support Director will be professional and respectful. Written documentation will be required for every exchange.
- Represent individuals with developmental disabilities in a normative and positive manner.
Reports To: Residential House Manager
QualificationsInterest in working with people with developmental disabilities.
Experience or education pertaining to individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
Required Skills:
Accepts responsibility for assigned tasks. Able to communicate orally and in writing.
Residential hours are typically 3p-11p, 11p-9a. DCRP’s with a valid driver’s license have the option to work 9a-3p on certain days.
