Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are an independent, fee-only multi-family office that has been serving ultra-high-net-worth families for over four decades. Named a 2025 Barron's Top 100 RIA Firm and repeatedly recognized as a best place to work, we bring together investment management, tax planning, estate strategy, and family well-being into one cohesive approach. As a fiduciary with no outside ownership, we work solely in the interest of our clients and have built lasting relationships with families navigating everything from liquidity events to multigenerational wealth.

What

you'll do:
  • Serve as the investment lead across a defined set of UHNW client relationships, working alongside Senior Portfolio Managers and Senior Client Advisors to deliver a fully integrated client experience
  • Own investment conversations end to end and deliver portfolio reviews independently
  • Construct and manage multi-asset portfolios across public and private markets
  • Oversee junior team deliverables including trade plans, rebalancing, tax-loss harvesting, and documentation
  • Support new client onboarding and participate in prospective client conversations as needed
What we're looking for:
  • Confident, polished communicator who has deep experience owning the investment relationship directly with UHNW clients, leading conversations across all levels of financial sophistication, from first-generation wealth builders to multigenerational families
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust and make complex investment topics accessible and clear
  • 12+ years of experience in investment management, financial services, or investment research
  • CFA preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, mathematics, or a quantitative field
  • Deep knowledge of portfolio management and broad understanding of multiple asset classes and securities markets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through complex situations at both a strategic and functional level
Why Ballentine:
  • Boutique firm with national credibility and a true seat at the table. Senior advisors contribute to investment team discussions, participate in due diligence, and help shape junior talent and firm strategy, not just execute within a silo.
  • New clients are assigned based on fit and interest, giving you a steady flow of high-quality opportunities without internal competition or pressure to hunt for business.
  • Step into an active advisory role quickly, inheriting existing client relationships rather than building from scratch.
  • Real discretion to build and manage portfolios within a well-defined investment philosophy, with full access to private markets, alternatives, and complex structures.
  • Clear career runway for advisors who want to grow.
