This is an on-site and full-time position in Waltham, MA. At Alloy, we have an ethos of "Mentorship-By-Apprenticeship" in all of our positions. We strive to have workers in the office when needed to interact organically and face-to-face. Of course, as a lab-based operation, our cells and animals grow 7 days a week, 365 days per year. We respect and value our colleagues for their hard work that requires them to be in the lab every day.

The Team

The Alloy Finance team is a growing, high-impact group supporting Alloy's strategic vision and our partners with our internal stakeholders, including R&D, Business Development, and our affiliated venture studio (82VS). As we scale our commercial operations and global footprint, this team is responsible for the financial integrity, strategic planning, and operational excellence required to support our diverse business models.

The Role

As the Controller, you will serve as the foundational leader of our accounting function, overseeing the Senior Accountant, AP Specialist and partnering closely with the executive team to ensure global financial compliance and operational efficiency. This role is designed for a seasoned financial leader who has previously held a Controller title and is eager to build scalable processes in a complex, revenue-generating biotech environment.

You will bridge the gap between technical accounting excellence and strategic business partnership.

How You'll Drive Impact

* Strategic Financial Leadership:
Architect and oversee the global accounting infrastructure, ensuring the financial health and regulatory compliance of Alloy and our subsidiaries.

* Operational Excellence:
Lead the month-end close, audit, and tax processes with a focus on shortening cycles and increasing the strategic utility of divisional reporting.

* Cross-Functional Partnership:
Act as the primary financial liaison for leadership across R&D, Business Development, and Venture Studio to ensure financial strategies align with divisional growth targets.

* Scalable

Infrastructure: Hands-on system expert who will optimize our financial tech stack (Net Suite, Coupa, and Ramp) to support complex revenue recognition and international expansion.

* Apprenticeship and Growth:
Direct the development of the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance, accuracy, and business-centric thinking.

Principal Responsibilities

* Global Consolidation:
Lead the month-end close process and consolidation for all global entities (US, UK, CH, JPN), ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.

* Revenue Governance:
Oversee complex revenue recognition for diverse divisional streams, ensuring alignment between Business Development contracts and financial reporting.
