The Opportunity

The Opportunity: X-Chem is seeking candidates for the Global Controller position. This role will work closely with the Divisional Controllers in Montreal, Canada and Budapest, Hungary to consolidate the financial statements on a monthly basis and support the preparation of the annual financial statements and footnotes. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the timely consolidation of the Company’s monthly financial statements of multiple international legal entities (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow)
  • Responsible for Intercompany eliminations
  • Assist CFO with Lender reporting and monthly Board reporting and adhoc presentations
  • Primary contact for external auditors;
    Responsible for coordinating global activities
  • Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
  • Assist with optimization of global financial processes and systems
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place for accurate and timely financial statement preparation
  • Primary contact for tax reporting and other regulatory reports
  • Responsible for US GAAP accounting research and memo preparation
  • Support the integration of acquisitions, as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience in a similar role
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, including technical accounting
  • Experience with monthly close and consolidation of multiple legal entities
  • Familiarity with foreign entities and intercompany accounting
  • Experience coordinating with external auditors and leading audit processes
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a private equity-backed organization
  • CPA certification
