Position Overview

The mechatronics technician is very hands on and loves assembling, testing and debugging complex technical products. The ideal candidate has both hands‑on automotive experience and is familiar with industrial automation products. They can pick up new skills quickly and have a curiosity and intuition for understanding how products go together and function. They are reliable, hardworking, and have a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Robotic system assembly and testing
  • Customer deployment - commissioning and go‑live
  • Own and maintain ATI's vehicle configuration library
  • Define and advocate for new features in tools and software to support scalability and fleet consistency
  • Document and lead troubleshooting procedures across robotic subsystems
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to resolve system interface and performance issues
  • Support on‑site pilot tests, customer demos, and system deployment

This position is located onsite in our HQ in Woburn, MA with no travel required.

Requirements
  • Hands‑on automotive experience or equivalent, specifically around vehicle tires
  • Expert in electro‑mechanical assembly, operation and root cause troubleshooting
  • 3D CAD - able to prototype text fixtures or other prototypes
  • Ability to do metal working (sheet metal, milling, welding)
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret mechanical, electrical, electronic schematic drawings and diagrams
  • Experience with wiring, cable fabrication, and cable management
  • Experience performing basic product testing and data collection
  • Experience working in an engineering lab setting
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
  • Machining experience is a plus
  • Familiarity in Linux working environment or with command-line utilities
  • Experience using CAD tools (preferably Onshape or Solid Works) a plus
  • Veteran or prior service experience a plus
