The Lead Estimator will prepare accurate and timely construction cost estimates for large‑scale projects with minimal guidance. Estimates will include all aspects of a project that factor into the overall cost.
What You'll Do- Prepare accurate and timely construction cost estimates with limited information
- Assist and coach senior estimators, estimators, and associate estimators with estimating best practices and review and sign off on their estimates
- Build effective relationships with Construction, Operations, Engineering, Resource Planning, and other stakeholders to improve estimate quality
- Present, explain, and justify project estimates to senior management and relevant stakeholders
- Work with the Manager to drive continuous improvement and review policies and procedures
- Assist with analysis of past estimates versus actual spending to drive estimation improvements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 5+ years of experience in construction, engineering, project management, or estimating
- 3+ years of experience in gas utility construction, maintenance, or engineering
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Power BI required
- Working knowledge of SAP and IBM Maximo preferred
- Field experience performing or supervising gas main replacements preferred
- Knowledge of main and service contracts preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
Salary: $132,000 - $155,000 a year
