To support this growth in the US, Midea is expanding its research and innovation capabilities at Midea America Research Center (MARC). With this objective, MARC seeks a Platform Manager for our Eureka Floor care Products.

This is a full‑time position. Some domestic and international travel is required.

  • Drive innovation and development of market‑leading vacuum products for the US Market.
  • Responsible for building the North American vacuum cleaner R&D team.
  • Lead the day‑to‑day team activities – including R&D meetings, project & strategy reviews, innovation sessions, etc.
  • Identify and develop new technologies, features, and products to enable Eureka product business growth.
  • Support Midea America Corporation and the China Product Division teams on technical matters concerning products sold in US market. Coordinating with multiple cross‑functional teams, such as Marketing, Product Management, After Sales, Quality, and Legal.
  • Lead team to become domain experts on US consumer behavior. Research and utilize consumer insights to guide development of new product platforms.
  • Identify new features and models to grow US market share.
  • Create intellectual property portfolio protecting technology and innovations.
  • Create and maintain technology roadmaps to enable successful product planning.
  • Maintain an ongoing assessment of competitive products through competitive feature analysis, product teardowns, performance comparisons, marketing claim analysis, and related activities.
  • Proactively identify and resolve design‑related quality issues and identify product quality improvements as part of the Research and Development process.
  • Manage budget, develop resources, drive teambuilding, support future lab development, and recruit approved headcount.
  • Meet with customers to understand potential product offerings and associated requirements. Lead team to convert these customer needs into viable product strategies. Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering required. Other engineering fields considered with appropriate experience.
  • 10+ years’ engineering experience in Vacuum Cleaner Industry, 5+ years as manager.
  • Previous management experience with at least 2 direct reports and demonstrated strong leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence.
  • Work efficiently in a multinational and cross‑cultural team environment.
  • Ability to lead technical teams and mentor engineers. Ability to communicate effectively with commercial team and customers.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficient in CAD software UG/Solidworks/Creo, Solidworks is preferred. Experience in structural design of plastic parts and related injection molding and mold.
  • Experience with 3D Modeling tools (Onshape) preferred.
  • Vision to see and ability to organize and execute a strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of high‑volume manufacturing processes.
  • Goal‑oriented, highly organized, and self‑managed.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with building a new team.
  • History of collaborating with global teams, particularly with colleagues and partners in China
  • Previous experience with consumer appliances
