Evolv’s Research & Development groupisseekinga visionary and hands-onIoT / Wi‑Fi Systems Engineertojoin  the Systems Engineering team.

In this role you will:

• Monitor and support
  
  IoT cloud connectivityof Evolv products.
• Designandbuild secure remote access mechanisms.
• Definefirewall/routing managementforaccess pointswithin Evolv products.
• Interact with
  
  IoT telecommunication service providersandhardware vendors when needed for design or troubleshooting.
• Detect and help mitigate dataoverages.
• Develop solutions to improve performance inlocationsthat may be subject topoor LTEsignalcoverageor
  
  Wi‑Fi network congestion.
• Recommend and qualifysoftware/firmware/configurationupdates forrouters handling
  
  IoT and Wi‑Fi connectivity.
• Developoptimized configurationandfirewallsettings.
• Coordinate with other Evolv teams to develop rollout plans.
• Troubleshootday‑to‑day IoT connectivityproblems to root cause in LTE, portal,AWS,devicehardware, software, or some combination thereof.
• Collaborate with Customers and Evolvteams on solutions for locations or applications that mayhave uniquenetworkchallenges.
• Identify performance trendsto providecontinuous improvement for the Evolv fleet of products andgrowingcustomerbase.

Success in the Role:
What key outcomes and milestones will you be expected to achieve in your first year?

In the first
30 days, you will:

• Become an integral team member and get up to speed onwho'swho in Engineering, Tech Support, and Field Service
• Learn how Evolv Express ande Xpediteproductswork with a focus oncloud and tablet connectivity.
• Learn My Evolv Portal  tools for Field Service support.
• Attend weekly Engineering/Service Activity Review meetings.
• Learn toremotelyconnect to router devices through manufacturermanagement portals.
• Learnto connect toIoT telecommunication service provider’s management portals.

Within 3 months, you will:

• Review and document the currentconfigurationstatesacrossmultipleproducts.
• Address intermediate connectivity issues for at least one existing customer.
• Beginidentifyingrisks and opportunities for improvement in current system sand expanding geographicaland vertical markets.
• Document and prototype secure remote connectivity using
  
  Generic Routing Encapsulation(GRE)/Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) tunnels.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership toaligngoals and priorities.

By the end of the first year, you will:

• Establish a well-defined process for qualifying changes to be implemented in the field and/or manufacturing.
• Lead cross-functional technical initiatives to improve performance, cost, and customer experience.
• Serve as the technical authority for IoT and Wi‑Fi related decisions, balancing innovation with maintainability, cost,and performance.
• Deliver measurable improvements in system scalability, reliability, and modularity.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, mentorship, and continuous improvement acrossthe engineering and supportorganizations.
• Define orcreatetools tofacilitatemonitoring key IoT and Wi‑Fi performance metrics.
