Fall 2026 teaching assignments:
* ED 170a - Race, Power, and Urban Education
* SOC 113b - Sociology of Race and Racism
Spring 2027 teaching assignments:
* SOC 1a - Order & Change
* SOC 104a - Sociology of Education
* SOC elective that reflects the instructor's areas of expertise
Each of these courses are primarily for undergraduate students, and course sizes range from 25 (ED 170a), to 45 (SOC 113b, SOC 104a), to 100 (SOC 1a).
Candidates with a Ph.D. in hand by September 1, 2026, and teaching experience in Sociology and Education will be given preference. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter, CV, and names and contact information for two references. The cover letter should indicate which additional Sociology elective they would like to offer in Spring 2027. A list of undergraduate electives (numbered 1-199) can be found here.
The deadline for first consideration is March 23, 2026.
This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.
The compensation for this position is $43,821.00
