Job Description Summary
Job Description Summary Reporting to the Director, the Student Engagement Associate will collaborate with the Director to develop opportunities for alumni to student engagement opportunities, as well as educate students on the importance of philanthropy. The Student Engagement Associate will oversee the Student Alumni Leadership Council and manage the student workers within the Office of Alumni & Family Engagement. Will provide administrative support to the office.
Responsibilities- Collaborates with the Director to advise the Student Alumni Leadership Council (SALC) to foster student engagement, leadership development, and philanthropic education.
- Collaborates with the Director to develop and execute strategies to infuse alumni connections into the student experience in partnership with student club and organization leadership, as well as partnership opportunities with Student Affairs.
- Partner with Annual Giving to design and execute a strategy for educating students on the importance of philanthropy to include a senior class giving program to maximize participation and philanthropic impact.
- Works with campus partners on alumni-student career development programs for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Hire, train, and supervise a team of student employees.
- Manage alumni inbox communications, troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate event materials, swag, and supplies.
- Monitor and improve administrative processes, including registration systems, data reconciliation, and reporting.
- Collaborate on strategic initiatives within OAFE and University Advancement.
- Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 1-2 years of alumni engagement and/or development experience, or equivalent transferable experience.
- Must hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted United States driver’s license, with an insurable driving history as determined by Bentley’s insurance carrier.
- Demonstrates creative planning, organizational, and project management skills; self-motivated and able to set priorities and manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Collaborative and collegial approach to working with teams; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Typical office setting with extensive sitting and computer work.
- Ability to travel within and outside of campus for work related events and duties; travel may occur outside of normal business hours including nights and weekends.
