Responsibilities

Edit content (text, graphics, and multimedia) for NEJM Clinician, Clinical Updates, Conference Updates, and other products to ensure standards of brevity, clarity, and overall quality are met. Review source materials independently and fact‑check all references to those materials. Coordinate with graphics/illustration as needed. Work with physician editors to perfect content before moving on to production.

Ensure that NEJM Clinician and other products consistently meet standards for editorial style, voice, and tone.

Write or produce original content as needed. Examples may include first drafts of Journal Watch summaries for physician editors to review and iterate on;
Clinical Conversations and other video segments; items in Conference Updates; and headlines, blurbs, and other “incidental” content that becomes part of the published product.

Participate in preparation of content features, including NEJM Clinician weekly editions, email alerts, and carousels, as well as Clinical Updates issues and Conference Updates emails. Responsibilities may include interacting with physician editors, graphics/illustration, and other NEJM Group editorial teams; loading and proofing content in our editorial tools; and coordinating with production to ensure timely deployment.

May help coordinate an editorial portfolio (e.g., Guideline Watch, short‑form entry points to NEJM Group content) for NEJM Clinician.

Performs QA, production, or administrative tasks to support the team as needed.

Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or advanced degree and a minimum of 3+ years’ experience creating or editing content, preferably for a medical audience, is preferred.
Must have a solid command of English usage, at least basic familiarity
