A privately held multifamily office business is seeking intern/associate for its office in Waltham MA. The ideal candidate will have solid accounting, bookkeeping and finance skills and be committed to learn new skills and constantly improve himself/herself. High degree of ethics and confidentiality is a must. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Accounting for all clients transactions – work with Quickbooks to record all transactions in the proper account and proper period. Transactions will include, bills, bill payments, invoices, deposits, journal entries and others – 20% of the time
  • Bank Reconciliations – end of the month bank reconciliations and analysis on any uncleared transactions – 20% of the time
  • Financial Statements Preparation – end of the month close and preparation of Income Statements and Balance Sheets based on US GAAP – 20% of the time
  • Tax Filing and Planning – file individual (forms 1040) and business returns (forms 1065, 1120, 1120S) for multiple clients. Assist in document assembly, data input, tax analysis and planning by running different tax scenarios – 30% of the time.
  • Budgeting, Costing and Analytical ad-hoc reporting - Create Excel financial models for specific tasks and projects
    -10% of the time

This individual should be comfortable contributing with his/her independent work and also be able to work as part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • BS – Accounting or Finance, other majors could be considered
  • Experience with Excel, Quick Books, or other accounting/financial software
  • Ability to assume responsibilities and be accountable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Desire to pursue professional credentials (CPA, EA, CFA, CFP, JD)
