Service Driver

Position:
Service Driver / Yard Operative (temporary to permanent)

Based in Aldridge, West Midlands

Hourly pay: £12.21 with a holiday pay accrual of £1.48 per hour (paid upon annual leave). Work is on a 40‑48 hour per week basis, with weekend shift work paid at time and a half and overtime opportunities available.

Key responsibilities include:

• Driving company vehicles to client sites safely and responsibly.
• Servicing and emptying portable toilets in line with environmental and Health & Safety regulations.
• Performing yard-based duties such as loading/unloading vehicles, sorting, repairing, preparing stock and transporting stock to storage areas.
• Using a tablet device to capture customer signatures and record job details.
• Daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance.
• Carrying out all duties in line with H&S requirements and ensuring safe use of pressure washing equipment.
• Keeping yard, vehicle and work areas clean and tidy.
• Assisting customers and answering basic questions.
• Flexibility to work varying service routes as required and carrying out any other reasonable tasks.

Required qualifications and skills:

• Ability to work within a 15‑20 minute commute to Aldridge.
• Good oral and written communication skills, excellent customer service and telephone manner.
• Organised with strong attention to detail, enthusiastic, efficient and self‑motivated.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing workloads.
• Ability to work as part of a small team with minimal supervision.
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety and physically fit for outdoor work.
• Excellent timekeeping and attendance record.
• Valid forklift licence if required for forklift use (company issued).
