We are looking for a compassionate and committed Domestic Abuse Support Worker to join our team in Walsall. This is a rewarding frontline role supporting children, families and adult victims (male and female) living in domestic abuse safe accommodation.
You will play a vital role in helping individuals rebuild their lives, regain independence and feel safe again using a person-centred, trauma-informed approach.
About the RoleAs a Domestic Abuse Support Worker, you will:
- Provide practical and emotional support to residents in domestic abuse safe accommodation.
- Manage a caseload of clients, offering tailored, one-to-one support.
- Complete needs and risk assessments and develop personalised support plans.
- Carry out ongoing risk assessments and safety planning.
- Support clients around domestic abuse, forced marriage, honour-based violence and FGM.
- Work closely with local and national partner agencies
- Support residents to maintain their tenancy and move towards independent living.
Travel between safe accommodation settings within the Walsall area as required
Work on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends
About YouYou will be passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals and confident working in a fast-paced environment.
You will have:
- Experience providing housing-related support and/or working with victims of domestic abuse.
- The ability to manage complex cases and challenging situations.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Experience producing accurate monitoring and casework information.
- A proactive, flexible, and solution-focused approach.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures, MARAC referrals and risk management.
- Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (intermediate level)
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Additional InformationThis role requires an Enhanced DBS check, which will be arranged upon offer.
