Salary Scale £55,662 - £59,490 (G12)

If so, we have a current opportunity for an experienced social worker to work as a Team Manager within our West Locality. Children and families are at the heart of our practice in Walsall as identified within our recent Ofsted inspection.
Children benefit from positive, trusting relationships with their social workers. Social workers enable children, through direct work, to share their lived experiences, hopes and aspirations.
ResponsibilitiesAbout the job
Within the role of team manager, you will be responsible for ensuring we continue to provide "Outstanding" support for our children and families.
You will be part of a leadership team that has "created a learning organisation that has effective and accountable relationships with each other and with partners (Ofsted, 2025).
You will be responsible for the leadership and management of a social work team(s) ensuring that vulnerable children and their families receive responsive services that safeguard and promote their welfare.
Actively promote and contribute to the strategic developments for children and their families in Walsall working with a restorative approach.
Responsible for Senior practitioners, social workers,
NQSW's and trainee social workers.
To have full responsibility for the delivery of services to children, young people, their families and carers, in line with legislation, guidance and local policy and procedures.
To make highly complex decisions relating to social service provision for children, young people and their families within Walsall.
QualificationsOur required or preferred experience includes:
- Experience as a Team Manager or in a leadership capacity within children and families social work.
- Line management of social workers, senior practitioners, and trainees.
- Current or eligible to register as a Social Worker (as applicable).
- Ability to deliver services to children, young people, their families and carers in line with legislation, guidance and local policy.
