Alecto Recruitment are recruiting experienced diagnostic-focused technicians for a busy, well-established independent workshop in Walsall. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys fault finding, diagnostics, and problem-solving - not just routine servicing all day.

Working hours:

• Monday-Friday: 8:30am-5:30pm
• 1 in 2 Saturdays: 8:30am-12:30pm
• Overtime available

What you'll actually be doing:

• Advanced vehicle diagnostics and fault finding
• Electrical and mechanical diagnostics on cars and light commercial vehicles
• Investigating warning lights, intermittent faults and complex issues
• Supporting general servicing and repairs when required
• Completing VHCs, job cards and workshop documentation accurately
• Working in a professional, organised workshop environment
• This role is diagnostics-led, not fast-fit.

This role is for you if:

• You have 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician
• You're a logical, methodical problem solver
• Diagnostics and electrics are your strong point (or where you want to specialise)
• You take pride in doing the job properly, not rushing it
• You're organised, reliable and professional

Ideal background (not all essential):

• NVQ Level 2+ in Vehicle Maintenance or time-served equivalent
• Strong diagnostic and electrical knowledge
• MOT Tester licence desirable but not essential
• Full UK driving licence required
