Equipment Audit and Admin Volunteer – Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Purpose of volunteering role:
To support the Older Adults Occupational Therapy team with equipment auditing/admin tasks.
This is a voluntary role which is unpaid.
Black Country Healthcare is a major provider of NHS mental health services for more than a million people across Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton:
- Adult and older adult mental health services
- Mental health services for children and young people
- Community healthcare for children, young people and families in Dudley

Main duties of the jobExamples of how you can help us:
The volunteer role will primarily involve supporting the Occupational Therapy Team with equipment audits and ensuring items are fit for purpose. This will include assisting with the written documentation that accompanies these checks.
There may also be opportunities to support a range of administrative tasks, such as preparing group materials, helping to streamline service processes, and taking notes during meetings. These examples are not exhaustive.
We are looking for volunteers who are reliable, motivated, and keen to make a positive difference within a supportive team environment.
To provide consistency and stability for the people we work with, we ask that volunteers can commit to six months.
Must be able to travel to Dorothy Pattison's Hospital – reimbursement of travel expenses will be offered.
We are looking for a volunteer who can support on a Monday or Thursday, for around half a day, weekly.

We are looking for volunteers who have these qualities:
- Reliability: support on a regular volunteer schedule to provide consistency
- Live in the Black Country, within a reasonable travel distance to site
- Volunteers must be over 18
- Can travel to site
Friendly and welcoming with good communication skills, able to speak with clients and staff and build rapport.
- Able to follow confidentiality policy and professional boundaries to keep themselves and patients safe.
Enthusiasm and desire to help improve experiences of patients and wellbeing.
Computer skills: able to use email, databases and other software.

Having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from volunteering with us; this will depend on the nature of the role and the circumstances of your offences.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
