Job Summary:

Are you passionate about working with children who have encountered a difficult and traumatic start to life? Do you want to make a real difference to adopted and care-experienced young people? We are looking to expand our Sensory Integration provision to meet the growing need of our service users for high quality assessments and interventions. We recognise the crucial role sensory integration can have in achieving good outcomes for the children and families we support and having got our sensory package established, we need the right person to help us grow and develop it.

You will be working closely with our existing SI OTs and team of Psychologists and Therapists to offer multi-disciplinary assessments of attachment and sensory needs for children. You may also be offering consultations to families regarding their childs sensory needs and there is scope to offer direct work to children and families as well as consultation and training to the wider network.

The Child Psychology Service (TCPS) CIC is a not-for-profit organisation whose aim is to provide caring, therapeutic, psychological support to children and their families. We provide a free-at-the-point-of-access service to families and deliver training and consultations to partner organisations. We work closely with our colleagues in the NHS and social care to provide specialist, therapeutic assessments and interventions that arent always available within statutory services.

  • Provide consultation & training to professionals
  • Communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team to promote the safety of children and management of risk
  • Maintain the high reputation of the service
  • Work with the team to develop new areas of service provision e.g. consultation to Residential Homes, training to schools etc
  • Work within the needs of a social enterprise

  • Reach productivity targets required to sustain the service

  • Ensure that all TCPS policies and procedures are understood and put into practice

What We Can Offer You
  • Full and part-time hours considered - minimum three days per week
  • A mixture of both face-to-face work in your local area - West or East Midlands and online work nationally
  • A dedicated SI clinic space at both bases
  • Opportunities to train in attachment-informed approaches e.g. Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, SAI
  • Regular in-house supervision from a psychologist plus specialist SI focussed supervision
  • Monthly journal club
