Walsall Council is seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join its Adult Mental Health Team on a full-time contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior practitioner looking to take on leadership responsibility within a well-established local authority service.

Contract Details

Rate: £32.67 per hour (Umbrella) - Fixed

Hours:

Full-time

Contract Length:
Initial 3 months, with potential extension up to 6 months

Location:

Civic Centre, Walsall

On-site requirement:
Tuesday & Thursday

Driving licence:
Essential

Key Responsibilities

Providing line management and professional supervision to staff, including performance management and oversight of annual leave and sickness

Supporting and overseeing Section 117 aftercare

Ensuring practice complies with the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act, Equality Act 2010, and other relevant legislation

Offering senior-level guidance, decision-making, and support within the Mental Health pathway

Essential Criteria (Must be Evidenced on CV)

Qualified Social Worker

Post-qualifying practice award, such as:

Practice Educator

Best Interest Assessor (BIA)

Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP)

Certificate in Child Protection Studies (or equivalent)

Significant experience within Adult Mental Health Services

Full UK driving licence
