Talent Acquisition Specialist @ NHB RecruitmentWe’re looking for an ambitious, hands‑on finance professional to take ownership of the day‑to‑day financial operations within this start‑up company.
This is a high‑impact role with real ownership. You’ll be the “face of finance” across the business, working closely with leadership, external partners, and investors, while rolling up your sleeves to ensure the numbers are accurate, insightful, and on time.
What you’ll be doing- Owning end‑to‑end financial operations and keeping everything running smoothly
- Leading a fast, accurate month‑end and year‑end close
- Building and running budgeting and forecasting processes
- Turning financial data into clear insight for monthly and quarterly management and board packs
- Streamlining purchasing, invoicing, payments, and expense processes
- Developing and maintaining stock recording processes
- Managing VAT, audits, year‑end accounts, and external advisors
- Supporting R&D tax credit and research grant claims with robust analysis
- Running payroll, cash management, consolidations, and FX
- Implementing and managing invoice finance facilities
- Designing and implementing new systems, controls, and scalable processes
- 3+ years’ experience in a fast‑paced startup or scale‑up environment
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
- Strong operational accounting skills (POs, billing, banking, reconciliations, balance sheet control)
- Confident across month‑end, year‑end, payroll, tax, audits, and consolidations
- A “get things done” mindset — no task too big or too small
- Passion for improving systems, automating processes, and building for scale
- Comfortable working with tools such as Xero, Salesforce (or similar systems)
- High ownership, accountability, and ambition to grow with the business
