Whetstone Field Primary School is looking for a dedicated and experienced teacher to join our warm and welcoming team. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a professional who wishes to combine a passion for classroom teaching with strategic leadership in Special Educational Needs.

The Role

This is a dual role designed for a teacher with strong organizational skills and a heart for supporting every child's potential. The position is full-time with day release for SENCO duties.

What We Are Looking For

We are specifically seeking anexperiencedcandidate who can hit the ground running in both aspects of this role.

As our Year 2 Teacher, you will:
  • Have a proven track record of excellent teaching in Key Stage 1.
  • Deliver creative, rigorous, and engaging lessons that inspire a love of learning.
  • Create a nurturing classroom environment that supports high behavioural expectations.
  • Be adaptable and able to build strong relationships with pupils and parents alike.
As our SENCO (1 Day per week), you will:
  • Hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO)
  • Have a deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and how to implement it effectively.
  • Manage EHCPs and IEPs, coordinate with external agencies, and support colleagues in adapting the curriculum for diverse needs.
  • Be a champion for our most vulnerable pupils, ensuring they make excellent progress.
