Parklane Surgery, based in Tonyrefail (Porth, Mid Glamorgan), is seeking a Salaried GP to join our friendly and experienced team. Responsibilities- Manage a varied caseload across six sessions per week, delivering high-quality care.
- Surgery and telephone consultations
- Home visits (where needed)
- Acute and repeat prescriptions
- Preventative health screening and health education
- Managing undiagnosed and chronic conditions
- Creating individualised care plans
- Participating in audits, QOF, and quality improvement
- Supporting trainee GPs and healthcare staff
- Contributing to the success of the Primary Care Network (PCN)
Youll work with autonomy, but always with the support of a highly collaborative team.
QualificationsEssential
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and inclusion on the GP Register
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to providing patient-centred care and maintaining high professional standards

Job responsibilities
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Make themselves available to undertake duties such as surgery consultations, queries, home visits, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and handling queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion and in accordance with the GMS contract.
- Make professional, autonomous decisions related to presenting problems.
- Assess health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Develop care plans in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
- Provide counselling and health education
- Admit or discharge patients to/from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate
- Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
- Participate in data collection for audits
- Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
- Prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) when appropriate
- Provide support for other clinicians such as nurses and healthcare assistants, including signing prescriptions where appropriate
- Work with other clinicians to foster learning and professional development
- Undertake normal GP duties within primary care
- Collaborate within the Primary Care Network
Other Responsibilities Within The Organisation
- Compliance with practice policies/guidelines (prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety)
- Commitment to life-long learning and audit for evidence-based best practice
- Contribute to computer-based patient records and read-coding
- Attend training and events organized by the practice or other agencies
- Collaborate with the Primary Health Care Team, including multi-disciplinary meetings and significant event analyses
- Support educational development of learners attached to the practice
