OverviewI’m currently working with a well-established firm of Chartered Accountants in the West Midlands that is looking to appoint a qualified Senior Associate to join their Audit team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced audit professional seeking a role with real responsibility, strong client exposure, and the chance to mentor junior colleagues within a supportive, growth-focused environment.
The OpportunityThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering audit assignments from planning through to completion across a diverse client portfolio. This role will suit someone who enjoys combining technical audit work with client engagement and team support. You’ll also gain valuable exposure to a variety of sectors, with travel to client sites providing plenty of day-to-day variety.
Key Responsibilities- Lead audit fieldwork and procedures from planning to completion
- Prepare audit files and ensure compliance with professional standards and regulations
- Review financial statements, supporting schedules, and audit documentation
- Provide coaching, guidance, and oversight to junior team members
- Communicate effectively with clients to resolve queries and ensure a smooth audit process
- Identify areas where value can be added and offer practical recommendations
- Travel to client premises for on-site audit work as required
- ACA / ACCA qualified
- Proven audit experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards
- Experience preparing financial statements under FRS 102
- Experience using IRIS software for accounts preparation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational ability and the capacity to manage multiple assignments
- Proficient in audit software and Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites
