CCWD is seeking a dedicated and proactive Water Use Efficiency Technician to assist in implementing and supporting a variety of water conservation programs. This role involves conducting residential, commercial, and landscape water use evaluations and rebate inspections at various customer locations, processing rebate applications, and participating in outreach activities to promote water-saving practices. The ideal candidate will be skilled at working in the field, interacting with the public, and applying discretion when assessing water usage in homes and businesses.
This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on environmental sustainability while supporting CCWD s water conservation goals.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role reporting at our District Center in Concord, CA. The position is a part-time temporary position expected to be (maximum six-month time frame). The days may be variable and the hours are generally 8:00am to 5:00pm but may occasionally vary depending on business needs and customer demands.
We Are Looking For Someone Who Is- Passionate about water conservation.
- Skilled in field inspections, the usage of basic tools, and computers.
- Comfortable in engaging with customers.
- A highly organized and detail-oriented contributor.
- Conducting Pre and Post rebate inspections, including measuring landscape areas.
- Using GIS software to create features and add attributes.
- Conducting indoor and outdoor water evaluations and tests.
- Educating customers on water-saving practices.
- Reviewing water usage records and providing recommendations.
- Representing CCWD at community events.

Physical DemandsWhen working in an office environment, must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone; ability to stand and walk between work areas may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment.
When working in the field, must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform light to medium physical work; to sit, stand, and walk on level, uneven, or slippery surfaces; reach, twist, turn, kneel, bend, stoop, squat, and crouch in the performance of assigned duties; to operate a motor vehicle and visit various CCWD and meeting sites; and vision to conduct inspections.
