Overview
This position is Full-Time and requires someone who can work the shifts listed below. We need a candidate with a flexible schedule.
- AM shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM)
- PM shift (11AM- 7:30 PM)
POSITION SUMMARY
Dietary aides prepare and serve food based on the nutritional needs of their patients. Performs tasks to ensure the timely preparation and delivery of nutritious attractive meals and supplements to all residents according to physician’s orders and in compliance with Federal, State and Company Requirements. Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment.
SPECIFIC EDUCATION/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A high school diploma with one to two years of experience in food handling, nutritional care, and hospitality service.Dietary aides should have a food handler’s permit.This position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needs.Must provide verification of TST (tuberculin skin test) as required by state law and in accordance with Company policy. TSTs will be administered at the work site if required.JOB SKILLS
Physical dexterity – able to prepare food, push carts, and carry trays, requiring physical dexterity and the ability to lift, pull, push, and bend as neededHygienic practices – able to handle food safely, dietary aides ensure that all sanitation procedures and rules for hygiene are followed, such as frequently washing their hands and keeping their appearance clean and tidyTime management – dietary aides stick to strict meal schedules; they always arrive to work on time and make sure that their patients are fed at their designated hours, maintaining a schedule for food preparation and servingFood handling experience – dietary aides follow directions and recipes for preparing food, using appropriate tools and utensils; they understand the rules and regulations involved in cookingFriendly demeanor – interacting with guests and patients, dietary aides have a personable and friendly demeanor, creating a positive experience and maintaining a healthy relationship with their patients.RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Puts customer service first. Ensures that residents/patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals needs and rights. Maintains resident/patient confidentiality;Abides by established schedule to assigned facilities.Dietary aides prepare and serve food based on the nutritional needs of their patients.Dietary aides inspect food trays to ensure their patients are receiving the correct meal and ensure that patients’ needs are addressed in their meals and that their meals are in line with their proposed diets.Follow recipes, prepare and cook food, preparing food in a clean and sanitary manner.In addition to collecting and cleaning trays, ensure that all kitchen and dining areas are clean. Wipe surfaces and sanitize as necessary.Properly dispose of food waste and ensure that plates and utensils are not contaminated.Maintain Inventory and ensure that all the necessary ingredients are in stock and keeps track of what is in the kitchen and what needs to be replenished. When meat or produce expires ensure they are thrown out.Attends all meetings and in-services as required.Reports problems and needs to the supervisor in a timely manner.Promotes teamwork and cooperation with other staff.Performs other duties as requested.#J-18808-Ljbffr
