Position: Civil Engineering Intern - Water (Summer 2026)

Your Opportunity

The Walnut Creek office of Stantec is seeking a part‑time Engineering Intern to join our multi‑disciplinary team of integrated water professionals, each committed to delivering sound and strategic consulting services to a range of local, regional, state, and federal clients.

Key Responsibilities

Gain experience in various areas including:

  • Water‑related infrastructure.
  • Water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Participate in multi‑disciplinary teams on water projects throughout California and the western U.S.
  • Conduct technical evaluations, supporting planning and design of water supply, water treatment, and wastewater projects.
  • Coordinate with project managers, project engineers and staff, clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors.
  • Assisting technical staff with various project tasks, including researching, compiling, and evaluating project data, preparing reports, performing calculations for design projects, along with some exposure to CAD, GIS, and design.
  • Assisting with field work, including water quality sampling.
  • Perform project administration including preparation of reports, gathering of information, drafting proposals and correspondence, and completing progress reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
