Position: Senior Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant (Field Based)

ERM is hiring a motivated Senior Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant to support a key client in Milpitas, CA. This is a full‑time (40 hours a week), limited‑term role with a duration of 6 months, extendable.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing and supporting the implementation of Cal/OSHA requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, Job Hazard Analysis/Risk Assessments, Emergency Response Plans, Behavioral Safety Programs, and Contractor Safety Management. Candidates should also be familiar with laboratory safety requirements, waste management (hazardous, non‑hazardous, universal/electronic), environmental reporting (HMBPs), and chemical safety requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Review, update, and develop required EHS programs including, but not limited to: IIPP, HAZCOM, EAP/FPP, LOTO, Confined Space Programs, Biosafety, Lab Safety, and Radiation/Laser Safety.
  • Provide technical oversight to maintain and improve performance for Air, Water, and Chemical Management as well as support ISO 14001 program management.
  • Prepare and submit all Environmental Reports such as CUPA HMBP, CARB State Programs:
    Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reporting, and Refrigerant Management Program, including gathering, verifying, validating data, reviewing for potential exemptions, and conducting threshold and release calculations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local or client‑specific EHS regulations.
  • Partner with local management to develop and implement a site CAPA process to address EHS program deficiencies and ensure regulatory compliance; conduct investigations and analysis of violations or potential violations.
  • Set and monitor goals/objectives/assignments, provide adequate coaching and counseling to site functional leaders on EHS programs/processes via dashboards and reports.
  • Lead incident investigations for all reported incidents and injuries, including First Aid and Good Saves.
  • Bring global best practices into the site and actively share site perspective, knowledge, and lessons learned to contribute and support a best‑in‑class professional level of EHS globally.
Requirements
  • BS in engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety, or related discipline preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of applicable experience providing EHS support with an emphasis on compliance, health, and safety.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording, writing detailed technical data and reports is a plus.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast‑paced consulting environment, handling multiple assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and being able to re‑prioritize tasks as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Pay Transparency

For the Senior Environmental, Health and Safety position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $88,236–$132,849
, $42.42/hr–$63.86/hr USD. Limited‑term, non‑exempt. An employee’s pay within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue‑based metrics, and business or organizational needs. This job may be eligible for bonus pay; casual and fixed‑term/Flexforce employees are not bonus eligible.

Benefits eligibility is limited to regular employees scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week. Fixed‑term employees who are regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for a limited benefits package. Casual employees are not benefits eligible.
