Environmental Engineer, Civil Engineering
Brown and Caldwell (BC) has an exciting opportunity for a Civil or Environmental Engineer experienced in planning, permitting, civil site grading, drainage analysis, and design of water and wastewater treatment and conveyance systems. BC has well established projects throughout Utah and also has projects throughout Arizona and New Mexico as part of ongoing work with an indigenous tribal client. This candidate will work closely with the team in Utah to support the client and other related water and wastewater projects.
This opportunity will require periodic travel to remote locations in Arizona and will require close interaction with the BC team in Salt Lake City. The ideal candidate would have 4-8 years of civil engineering experience in the areas of civil site work, water and wastewater conveyance or treatment and have a desire to take the next step in their career through supporting task leadership, project management, and client interaction.
This is a unique, challenging, and very rewarding opportunity.
Salt Lake City is preferred work location but will consider candidates based in locations within a commutable distance to the client, i.e. Flagstaff AZ, Page AZ, Gallup NM or Phoenix AZ.
Detailed DescriptionBC has multiple water and wastewater projects under contract in the west notably Utah, Arizona and Colorado that involve planning, design, and construction. These include all elements of civil site design, drainage analysis, potable water, wastewater, and reuse treatment facilities as well as pump stations and piping infrastructure.
The candidate may be called on to serve as a project engineer, task leader, or deputy project manager for various water related infrastructure assignments. Specifically, the BC team that supports work in Southern Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico for work with the Client Nation is in need of additional support. The candidate would be substantially assigned to work with the team supporting the Client Nation projects.
The candidate would be expected to take direction from the existing team leadership but would quickly move to work independently on engineering tasks and would be asked to provide task leadership, project management, and client management. Opportunities to manage scope, schedule, budget, and client interaction within the Client Nation program will come quickly for the right candidate.
