The Electrical Substation Project Engineer is responsible for all aspects of HV/EHV substation design, including:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in industrial or utility HV & EHV substation design, or MSEE (power) with relevant experience.
- Professional Electrical Engineering license in the U.S.
- Willingness to travel 20%, including internationally, complying with company policies.
- Experience with PG&E substation standards.
- Experience in transmission and distribution substation engineering for utilities and renewable projects.
- Knowledge of design calculations such as transformer and circuit breaker selection, grounding, lightning protection, etc.
- Ability to work independently and in teams, with effective communication skills.
- Electrical design experience for systems 12.5kV and above.
- Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NESC standards.
- Field-testing and commissioning experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and customer presence.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD/Microstation and automation tools.

Work Location: Hybrid in Walnut Creek, CA
Salary Range: $88,600 – $118,100 USD annually, with potential to reach $147,600 based on experience and performance. Includes bonuses and benefits.
