Westaff Hiring for Machine Operators & Packers for Manufacturer in Wallingford, CT! Training available for the right candidate with technical schooling, machine operating, or metal cutting background!
Shifts:1st Shift (7am-3:30pm) and 2nd Shift (3:30pm – 11pm)
Pay Rate:$19+, depending on experience and opportunity for advancement
Machine Operator/Packer Responsibilities:- Accurately cut large slabs of metal (1,000–10,000 lbs) using precision measurements and metal‑cutting machinery
- Process, package, and prepare cut materials for shipment
- Operate forklifts, side loaders, and overhead cranes as needed
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
Required Skills:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience in machine operations and/or metal cutting
- Comfortable using computers and basic software
- Strong understanding of basic math: fractions, decimals, measurements
- Team‑oriented with strong communication skills
