As a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP), you will join the Hospitalist team at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford, CT, providing high-quality, timely care to patients across the hospital.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, and delivering treatment within the APP scope of practice.
- Develop and manage diagnostic and treatment plans, such as ordering labs, imaging, consults, referrals, and prescribing medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans, evaluating physiological and behavioral responses and collaborating closely with attending physicians and clinical staff.
- Respond to urgent clinical issues and perform approved procedures aligned with demonstrated competencies and hospital-approved privileges.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team activities, including unit meetings, family conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and administrative committees as needed.

- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Clinical working experience as an NP/PA in the specialty/service line is preferred but not required.
- APRNs and PAs must be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS hospital and go through the Medical Staff credentialing process. This includes providing evidence of current competence to practice and obtaining reference letters during appointment.
- Active PA or NP Certification by NCCPA, ANCC, or AANPCB.
- Connecticut State Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner License, ACLS/BLS as applicable, and DEA license where required.
- Additional licensure, certifications and/or continuing education credits may be required during employment based on position and area of specialty.
