The Hartford Health Care Heart & Vascular Institute brings together cardiac care specialists under one roof. We are seeking an Electrophysiology Advanced Practitioner (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join a rapidly growing ambulatory team. The role involves evaluation of new patients with cardiac rhythm problems, management of arrhythmia patients, pre-admission testing, cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) checks, remote monitoring, and facilitation of therapeutic procedures including CIEDs and catheter ablation.
Responsibilities- Evaluate new patients with various cardiac rhythm problems.
- Assess and manage arrhythmia patients.
- Pre-admission testing for EP procedures.
- Cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) checks and remote monitoring for CIEDs.
- Facilitate work-up and therapeutic procedures including CIEDs and catheter ablation procedures.
- Initiate patient care meetings with the health care team to revise the plan of care as the patient’s condition warrants.
- Participate in total quality management to positively affect patient and system outcomes.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master’s program preferred.
- Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Connecticut.
- Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse through AACN or ANCC.
- Cardiology experience preferred – Electrophysiology would be preference.
- Cardiac device management experience highly preferred.
