The Process Engineer ensures safe, efficient, and high‑quality operation of polymerization processes within the plant. This role delivers technical leadership in process optimization, equipment reliability, and process control while supporting continuous improvement in safety, product quality, and operational performance.
WHAT YOU WILL DO- Troubleshoot process problems and equipment malfunctions across reactors, blend tanks, extruders, pumps, and conveying systems.
- Maintain and update process documentation, including SOPs, P&IDs, equipment drawings, and equipment files.
- Support, maintain, and improve process control systems (PLC/DCS), instrumentation, and sensor‑based analytics.
- Ensure all process changes comply with safety, environmental, industrial hygiene, and loss‑prevention requirements.
- Lead and participate in Hazard Analyses and Pre‑Startup Safety Reviews, ensuring timely completion of action items.
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance safety, environmental performance, product quality, efficiency, and cost.
- Design, plan, and obtain approval for development runs related to new products and process modifications.
- Develop and manage capital projects that support product and process performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in energy efficiency and cost reduction.
- Train operations personnel on process safety, control systems, and equipment operation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for process operations and control.
Salary range $78,500 - $117,700 per year. The posted salary range reflects the national average for this role. Final compensation may vary based on location, experience, and qualifications. This role is eligible for an annual performance bonus in addition to base salary.

- BS or MS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 1–5 years of experience in a chemical plant environment with accountability for unit operations.
- Experience in project engineering and process control.
- Proficiency with process control systems, instrumentation, and automation.
- Experience with extrusion systems, blending operations, and material‑handling equipment (preferred).
- PLC/DCS experience (preferred).
- Ability to collaborate across production, safety, maintenance, and engineering teams.
