Healthcare Senior Accountant

Masonicare Corporate Services - Wallingford, CT

Day Shift / 40hrs/wk

The Senior Accountant is a utility team member responsible for analyzing and preparing monthly journal entries, accounts analysis, financial reports and special projects depending on the needs of the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare the monthly financial statement package, which includes financial statements, bank reconciliations, subaccount reconciliations, statistical reports and operational analytical summaries.

Provide financial analyses as requested for all affiliates, including but not limited to:

Actual to Budget comparisons
Financial variance analysis (actual & budget)
Account variance research and analysis

Assist in preparation of workpaper schedules for annual audit and tax filing processes, provide information for annull cost report and aid in analysis and responses.

Involve in special projects that may arise among our system’s operations, which may include due diligence, providing hands‑on support in the event of staff turnover.

Partner with affiliates and/or departments on any accounting needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business‑related field
Experience:

5 or more years of Healthcare accounting or finance experience
