** In Situ Operator**, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate subsurface testing that supports safer infrastructure, renewable energy projects, and resilient communities across the UK. Working on land, nearshore, and offshore sites, you’ll be part of a highly skilled ground investigation team that values collaboration, curiosity, and continuous learning. You’ll report to the In Situ Testing Senior Operations Supervisor, joining a friendly, supportive team who will help you thrive as you grow your technical expertise.

This is an on‐site and field-based role.
** Your Role and Responsibilities
**** Expectations & Deliverables
*** Deliver high‐quality in situ testing results using Pressuremeters including High Pressure Dilatometers, Self-Boring Pressuremeters and Cone Pressuremeters and conduct Cone Penetration Testing (CPT), following industry specifications and Fugro’s safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
* Produce accurate, reliable data from subsurface geology to support geotechnical interpretations for client projects.
* Operate equipment safely and efficiently across land, nearshore, and offshore sites.
** Responsibilities
* ** Work closely with on‐site drillers, site managers, CPT Operators and project teams to carry out all required testing activities.
* Assist with equipment preparation, daily checks, mobilisation, maintenance, and safe demobilisation.
* Maintain clear documentation and uphold Fugro’s Environmental, Quality, Health & Safety policies.
* Adapt to changing schedules and operational demands, including travel and overnight stays where required.
* Contribute proactively to continuous improvement efforts, learning new techniques and embracing opportunities for growth.
* Support effective teamwork by communicating openly, sharing knowledge, and fostering a positive site culture.
** What You’ll Need to Thrive in This Role
**** Essential
* ** A full UK manual driving licence is mandatory.
* Willingness to travel frequently and stay away from home for periods during operational projects (including night shifts or weekend work).
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-focused environment.
* Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in changing site conditions.
* A practical mindset with geological, mechanical, or electronic aptitude or experience. Additional training will be provided.
* A degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field would be desirable.
* An HGV Category C (Class
2) licence is desirable.
