Position:
Elementary Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Program Teacher
Minimum Qualifications:
* Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement in SV required
* Trained in or willing to be trained in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
* Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
* Proven successful experience in working with students with disabilities
* Proficiency in developing instructional behavior plans including positive behavior supports in appropriate social and classroom settings.
* Must demonstrate knowledge and/or understanding in consistent use of data to monitor student growth, inform instruction, and develop interventions.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement IEPs for caseload students
* Monitor and document student progress on IEP goals
* Provide direct instruction across general and special education settings
* Collaborate with general education, special education team colleagues and team members, administrators and parents to meet the needs of students
* Modify the general education curriculum for students with IEPs based upon Instructional techniques
* Maintain special education records in all areas of special education compliance
* Establish and maintain an effective and cooperative working relationship with all staff, students, and parents
* Complete monthly required Medicaid billing
* Adapt instructional and social-emotional materials to meet the needs of students
* Direct and support Para Educator staff
