Maintenance Mechanic 3 (Lead Maintenance Mechanic Fire Alarm Technician)
Join our team at Western State Hospital, an adult psychiatric hospital, where you’ll guide others and ensure our facilities operate at their best.
Responsibilities- Maintenance and repairs in life safety, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Fire alarm testing and maintenance.
- Fire suppression testing and maintenance (fire sprinklers, stand pipes, fire extinguishers).
- Lead team workflow, guide safety policies and procedures, and assist staff with operational procedures.
- Install and maintain plumbing, electrical, and mechanical fixtures; repair air conditioning, laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, gates, and hydrants.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair on all types of mechanical equipment.
- Emergency lighting testing.
- Minor appliance repairs.
- Develop solutions to repair and maintenance issues.
- Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and sketches.
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade and one year of experience as a journey-level worker in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work. (Experience in a trade may substitute for an apprenticeship).
NICET Level 2 Fire Alarm Systems certification.
